*SNIFF!!!* *SNIFF!!!* Another terrific episode that never aired, this was a response to all the die-hards at screen testings who complained that the show CLERKS was nothing like the movie CLERKS. Although it does start out with some similarities like the characters names popping up on screen with the time of day and whatnot, it soon progresses to just shear insanity complete with soccer teams, gorillas, a carnival, the president, A Duck Amuck Parody, and The Matrix.
Team CLERKS' original idea to have the entire show in black & white. Unfortunately, if you haven't figured it out yet, the network execs are all |)|ck$ and they wouldn't allow it. So then they thought maybe shooting the entire episode from behind the counter. But they ultimately settled on incredible events taking place outside the Quick Stop and the two clerks refusing or unable to go outside to see whats going on outside.
Most of this episode was a big ripoff of other movies including the Pinheads from Freaks and Morphius from The Matrix. When this episode was aired at the San Diego Comic Convention, a small pocket of the audience who was familiar with the movie Freaks laughed at the Pinheads scene, those who didn't get the joke kinda laughed uncomfortably. Actually it reminds me of when I went to see Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back in the movie theater.
And of course there's the tribute to the infamous Looney Toons episode DuckAmuck with Dante & Randal, constantly being reanimated in alternate stories. And, just like Duck Amuck, the man in control is none other than the arch nemisis, which in this case was none other then Jay & Silent Bob. The episode ends with Jay a la Bugs Bunny saying, "Ain't I a stinka?!!! Naga Naga Nooch!!!"
